Located a few kilometres off the coast from Cape Town, Robben Island was the place where Nelson Mandela was infamously imprisoned for 18 years of his 27-year sentence. The Island is now a World Heritage Site and museum, offering daily tours which ferry guests from the V&A Waterfront to the island. Once on Robben Island, guests are taken on a guided tour by a former political prisoner, gaining a unique insight into life during the Apartheid era.
