Soak up the sun at one of the many excellent beaches in and around Hermanus. Awarded blue flag status, Grotto Beach boasts endless stretches of white sand and excellent swimming conditions. Sheltered from the wind by rocky cliffs, Voelklip Beach with its grass terraces is another favourite. This is also a great area for bird watching, due to the nearby “bird rock” after which the beach was named. Thousands of marine birds nest in this region.
