The journey of Uwe Koetter started from humble beginnings in 1968, when Mr Uwe Koetter founded his own company – a one-man show in Adderley Street, Cape Town.
The jewellery business grew over time, and it was not long before larger premises were required. Its popularity took the business from Adderley Street to St George Mall, then to Amway House, and finally to the Cape Quarter Lifestyle Village.
Today, the business is run by Johan Louw, Mr Koetter’s brother-in-law, who is dedicated to preserving both the company’s long-standing legacy and exceptional craftsmanship. Consistent with its history in this location, the company employs only the finest craftsmen and designers to ensure it provides top-quality jewellery to its clients. The greatest source of its pride stems from the many relationships it has built by successfully delivering on clients’ needs, time after time.
As a family business, Uwe Koetter Jewellers treats each client as a member of its family. It is for this reason that the company is in the privileged position of serving the third and fourth generations of its earliest clients, who became part of its bespoke family more than fifty years ago.

Uwe Koetter Jewellers specialises in bespoke jewellery design and manufacturing.
Clients, along with their personal motivations and stories, form the basis of every commission, as the company believes that jewellery is more than just a beautiful artefact.
Uwe Koetter Jewellers is privileged to have an on-site workshop, which enables the offering of jewellery cleaning and restoration services, such as re-sizings and repairs, to clients.
Uwe Koetter Jewellers have on-site CAD designers, as well as a 3D printer, enabling the production of resin models that allow clients to see and feel a visual representation of their commission before moving on to the final manufacturing stage.
Uwe Koetter Jewellers also have a sizeable ready-to-wear collection in the on-site showroom, where clients can purchase top-quality jewellery.
A jewellery piece can be so much more than just a beautiful stone set in gold; it has the power to carry legacies, milestones, and personal stories through decades.
